An Exciting New Beginning

Welcome to our newly redesigned website!

Over the past ten years, this website has provided honest, accurate, and timely information about breast cancer and women’s health. With the redesign, we have made it easier for you to get the information you need. We have also made it easier for you to learn more about my Foundation, the funding we provide to clinicians and researchers, and the work we are doing to end breast cancer.

Like my Breast Book, this website is a guide for the newly diagnosed, for those who have had a cancer recurrence, and for breast cancer survivors. And like my Menopause and Hormone Book, this site is designed to help women make informed choices about treating menopausal symptoms and sustaining bone health. It is also a place where clinicians and researchers can learn about the latest research advances in the intraductal approach to breast cancer.

Each of my books include more information than we can house on our website. But as more studies are done, new questions arise. And that’s what is so wonderful about the Internet. Unlike a book, a website is easy to update. So you can turn to my books for the extensive background information you need to fully understand the normal breast and breast cancer or menopause and hormones. And you can rely on the website to provide you with accurate and timely information about how good the new treatment you just read about really is or what the latest study published on breast cancer really means.

This website will also allow you to become more familiar with the work of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. My Foundation focuses its efforts on the intraductal approach to breast cancer. What does this mean?

It is believed that virtually all breast cancer begins in the milk ducts. We can access these ducts through the openings in the nipple that release breast milk or fluid. Using a technique called ductal lavage, we can obtain cells from the milk duct. We can then analyze them to see if they are thinking about some day becoming cancer. And that will allow us, in the not-too-distant future, to stop them in their tracks!

This has been my dream for decades, and it is closer than ever to becoming a reality.

My Foundation has as its goal the eradication of breast cancer within our lifetime. This goal may be audacious, but we need to be bold to end breast cancer. And we need everyone to take action. That’s why I’m asking every person I know to join Love’s Army. By being part of my Army, you will be at the forefront of ending this disease.

PS—I’m looking forward to learning what you think about the new website. Give us your feedback here.
