Supporters of our work frequently ask us, "What can I do to help?" One answer is: Host a Partnership Event. What is a Partnership Event? A Partnership Event can be anything from a luncheon to a garage sale. But all Partnership Events have one thing in common: they are designed to raise awareness about and funds for the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. You organize the event. We'll supply you with materials about the Foundation and our Foundation's Pink Bracelets to raffle off or give away. And, for your efforts, you'll receive a signed copy of Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book. If you would like to organize a Partnership Event with the Foundation, please email us at [email protected] or fill out a Partnership Event form and either fax it to 310-230-1612 or email it to [email protected]. Here are some ideas to help you plan the next event to raise money for the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and its work to end breast cancer. - Athletic Endeavors—Are you training for an upcoming race or for your first triathlon? Are you a yoga enthusiast? Why not help us raise money for breast cancer while you run, bike, swim, or master the perfect Karna Pidasana? Tell your friends, family members, and coworkers about the Foundation and ask them to sponsor you in your athletic endeavor by making a donation to the Foundation. Or talk to your favorite yoga instructor about donating proceeds from a Saturday morning class to the Foundation. That downward dog will feel even better if you know it's helping to end breast cancer!
- Garage Sale—Talk to your neighbors and organize a mega-garage sale. Advertise widely and let everyone know that the proceeds from the day's sales are going to the Foundation and its research program. At the end of the day, you'll have more closet and garage space—and have helped to end breast cancer. Don't forget to sell lemonade and cookies, too!
- Dining Event —Tell you favorite restaurant you want to host a brunch/lunch/dinner to benefit the Foundation. Many restaurants will do a pre-fix menu and host you in a private dining space. Add $20.00 or more on to the price of the meal (make sure you've already accounted for tax and tip), and let your friends and family members know they'll not only be enjoying a great meal and fabulous conversation, but raising money to fight breast cancer!
- Jewelry & Accessories/Arts & Crafts/Trunk Show—Do you or your friends design jewelry or accessories? Are you or your friends artists? Fashion designers? Know someone who is? Host a show at your home or a local gallery, and let everyone know that a portion of the sales made that day will go to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and its fight to end breast cancer. It's a great excuse to shop!
These are just some ideas. Be creative and help us eradicate breast cancer. |
